Soft and Fluffy Bread Loved by Families - Easy Tangzhong Bacon and Green Onion Bread
Ingredients
Steps
1. Dissolve the caster sugar in the tangzhong ingredients into boiling water, then stir in the bread flour to make tangzhong. Combine all ingredients except butter into a dough and knead until smooth, then add the tangzhong and knead again.
2. Add butter and knead the dough until it reaches the elastic stage. Let it proof until double in size. Divide the proofed dough into 10 small portions and let them rest for 15 minutes.
3. Take one portion of dough, roll it into a round shape, flip it over, and place a piece of bacon on top.
4. Roll it up from top to bottom into a cylindrical shape, then fold the dough in half.
5. Cut the folded dough in the center without cutting all the way through. Open the cut edges outward, exposing the layers, then place it in a mold for a second proof.
6. Finely chop green onions and mix them with butter and salt.
7. Brush the surface of the proofed dough with egg wash and sprinkle it with the green onion mixture.
8. Preheat the oven to 180°C, bake the bread in the middle rack for 15 minutes, then it's ready.
