Quick and Smooth Microwave Steamed Custard
One day when I was steaming eggs, I didn't have a steamer. After 10 minutes of eager anticipation, I ended up with a pot of scrambled egg soup. That's when I thought of using the microwave.
Ingredients
Steps
3 eggs, approximately 130 grams
Beat the eggs
Pour in warm water (around 60°C) while stirring
Stir well. You can sieve it twice, but I didn't. I prefer it a bit firmer.
Cover with plastic wrap and poke small holes
Place in the microwave
60°C water, 6 minutes on medium-high heat
Cold water, 8 minutes on medium-high heat. Remember to use a towel to avoid burns. Make sure to use microwave-safe dishes.
It might look a bit firm, but it's actually very smooth. I didn't sieve it.
Add a small spoon of light soy sauce
You can also add minced meat, scallions, etc., if you like.
Wrap the custard in lettuce—crispy and tender. Want to give it a try?
